At 6:13pm, the ambience of the Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week #hlfdw was alive with an amazing busy vibe. Yummy smells of couture and perfume hung left, right and centre, with vendors parading their wares in the outer court. I spied with my God given eye an array of vendors, including Maybelline, and of course, the creators’ lounge with cute looking nibbles.
The green carpet was already filled with photographers directing shots and bloggers/models posing. I caught a glimpse of Tuke Morgan standing svelte in Ankara and sleek black heels, with Cknaija Knight directing her shots.
It was going to be a great night.
The evening featured the collections of Morafa FF, 8th Wanda, JZO, Omilua/Titi Belo, Ugo Monye, Eki Orleans, Johnson Johnson, Style Temple, Kinabuti, Amede, Nkwo Studio 189 and Ejiro Amos Tafiri
Morafa FF opened the evening with its super edgy collection, and 8th Wanda had a Grecian themed collection in blacks and off whites. The neck pieces were so amazing!
Omilua played with colours and patterns, which was adventurous and really cool
Style Temple was vision in white and other prominent colours, and Chyder 5′s favourite for the evening.
The Kinabuti collection was sporty, featuring tracksuits, sweatshirts and the like, with patches of beautiful Ankara patterns. Denrele Edun modeled for this line, adding a bit of pizzazz to the showcase
The Amede collection featured chiffon dresses, some accompanied with pants in beautiful patterns and varied lengths, brightening up the evening
Ejiro Amos Tafiri’s was an eclectic collection of bold shimmery jumpsuits and dresses with varying lengths; feminine and nice. This closed the #hlfdw day 1.
My favourite was the 8th Wanda Collection
What was yours?
