The maiden edition of the International Drinks Festival was cool. The DJ played a lot of jamz I knew from Mario, Neyo, 50 cent and the like; a lot of songs that people know, generally.
I tasted different drinks and I guess you could say my thirst was quenched several times over. There were over 30 stands, consisting of retailers of juices, sodas, syrups and spirits. There were also stands for professional mixers who served delightful cocktails.
At the Finest Call stand, I tried the brand’s Strawberry and Mango Puree mixes in their thick form. They were very rich. Purées have 40% concentration of the fruit, while juices have just 5% concentration. I also had the Mango Purée mix, diluted with water and ice. It was pretty awesome😊
I went to the Rite Foods stand and was greeted by a very friendly attendant.
Rite Foods produces Bigi, which has 7 flavours of soft drinks, including orange, lemon & lime, tropical, cola, and bitter lemon. I tried bitter lemon, and lemon and lime. The Lemon and Lime was a bit dilute, while the Bitter Lemon was slightly bitter. I guess that was the intention-lol.
The Bigi brand is different from others because they reduce the sugar content and opt for more natural flavours.
They also had water and non alcoholic energy drinks, which are safer. Energy drinks are electrolytes to fill you up with energy when you are slightly weak, so it’s better to have a mild version. They had the Classic and Red Berry flavours. I think I preferred the latter, as it reminded me of the Finest Call’s Strawberry Fine Mix
They had alcohol available to mix their drinks but there was no ice, so I wasn’t able to get any cocktails.
I tried white wine from Cellar Central. It was okay I guess.
I also stopped by the JF Hillebrand logistics stand, which is a logistics company that offers importation services, and is quite known in the drinks industry. I got a free pen, which was nice.

I went to the Fabbri stand which is a company established since 1905, and I had the most fun here😊
I enjoyed watching Kene, the bar tender shake the cocktail, whose ingredients were: Teem, 5 alive Apple juice, Fabbri Mixy Bar strawberry, and Triple Sec. It was very tasty, and with the soda counteracting the sweetness of the strawberry.
When my glass was empty, I got the Elderflower and Cranberry Cocktail. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, sipping as the Dj played Summertime by Beyonce and Diddy
