The 77th Golden Globes poised to honor the best in television and film was brimming with fabu style and I thought to share my favourite looks, as well as a throwback to my favourite looks from 2019.
Awkwafina of the Crazy Rich Asian fame killed it with this Dior Haute Couture tuxedo suit as she won Best Performance by Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for ‘The Farewell’. I love the ruffled collar and red lip. I would have actually picked a pair of pants, Awka takes it to another level in this long skirt. And there’s nothing like the crowning accesory of confidence. Ace!
This is my favourite look of the evening and Nicole Kidman is statuesque in Versace. The pleats at the bodice give the dress a classic pop, and the Hanut Singh earrings are a lovely addition to the ensemble.
This Ralph and Russo black and gold jumpsuit worn by Phoebe Waller-Bridge is all shades of amazing. I love the black lace trimmings at the sleeves, feet and lapel, as well as the shoulder detail.
Zoe Kravitz’s custom made Saint Laurent polka dot pattern mix match is one of my highlights of the night. The black belt ties it all in. Her crew cut and studs are a stunning addition to her whole look.
Ana de Armas wore a stunning strapless sequined navy ball gown designed by Ralph and Russo. She accessorised with a dark neck piece and red lips.
Circling back to 2019, there were 6 looks that caught my eye: Emily Blunt’s grey custom made Alexander McQueen lace dress, Felicity Huffman’s sheer, snug and shimmery Laura Basci dress, Gemma Chan’s dramatic teal Valentino halter playsuit with a dramatic gown embellishment, Emma Stone’s sheer and deliciously detailed Louis Vuitton dress, Julia Robert’s champagne and black one armed jumpsuit, but my all time fave was Sandra Oh’s third white dress with a bow neck and golden sleeves. Her hair was styled in a low bun when she received the award for best actress in a Tv Drama for ‘Killing Eve’, but it was restyled in a high bun that was just so exquisite. Her studs were très magnifique.
